| |
We've just received an e-mail on ourdomain.co.uk from Tripod UK informing us that the domain ourdomain.net - not currently owned by us - is expiring, and would we be interested in using their services to acquire it.
Now I seem to remember reading something about the whole process for acquiring domain names which had expired, probably on the hosting forum on ADSLGuide (as was). As I remember it the way it works is weighted against individuals and in favour of specialist companies using automated systems to pick up the domains as they become available.
My question is, has anyone here any experience and/or knowledge in this area? As it happens we're not particularly interested in this specific instance, certainly not at a premium price anyway, mostly curious really.
Regards,

Pete,
I've tried this a few times, I had success with one domain via snapnames.com, but they lost the others to sedo.com.
Pool.com and Enom.com also have services in this area. I guess you don't pay unless you get the domain so you can hedge your bets and try with all services you can find...
