Hi good people,

Could anyone recommend a reliable internet provider in the UK?
I am moving to Aberdeen coming week and need to get this sorted quickly.

As the UK telecom industry seems to be one of the maddest I have ever seen, I am grateful for any advice on this matter.

Please note that my confidence on this topic is currently at it's lowest after spending a considerable amount of time trying to contrast 3210 different calling plans involving 3210 different cell phone companies. I am almost sure a rational approach to this industry is a waist of time.

Any Suggestions?

We've never had an issue with PlusNet - great service, good prices!

I will probably take a better look at the following: Metronet, Zen and Plusnet...

...and it seems like Buldog, Tiscali and AOL should be avoided...

Can't comment on the other two but I'm more than satisfied with Metronet. Good value for money, honest approach, easy to do business with and first class support. (The 'Nethosted' of the ISP world one might say.)

Ive been with NTL for over 2 years..... and they have been great!!! Also with all the free upgrades i cant moan, there support is great! How ever, i have a mate who has NTL in Yorkshire and its really bad for connectivity! Maybe i just live in a great street with great NTL lines
