We are doing a lot of things in the very near future:

1) Moving our servers to the UK
2) Reseller Plans
3) New website (much improved, with tutorials etc)
4) Affiliate scheme

It's all in the pipeline! Mikee, what kind of payout would you think was an attractive one?

Andrew

A lot of places seem to do between 3% and 10% of the product sold.

If you were to be really clever about it all, you could get a lot of sites linking directly to your homepage, which would greatly improve your search engine rankings.

Most affiliate schemes do it so that the person links to your site similar to this:

www.nethosted.co.uk/?affid=mikee

but a clever way would be make people input what sites they'll putting the links on, and then they can link directly to..

www.nethosted.co.uk

and you can track the referring page, and compare it to the database.

in theory, something like that would be great, because you'd get lots and lots of good backlinks directly to your homepage, and search engines will give you a nice big pagerank because of it. But, it also means that the links would only work if they were from a web site, so it may not be as good.

If you were going to only let nethosted customers join in with the affiliates scheme, you could always make it so that money is taken off their next hosting bill, but when it's all done via paypal/worldpay automatically, it could become a bit of a nightmare.

Yeah we've been looking at a couple of different ways to do the affiliate thing! I agree it certainly will help us in lots of ways - if we do it properly! Any help you can give backlinking wise etc us very much appreciated

Andrew

Still working on it, can't decide if it's going to be industry leading (e.g. very expensive) or more a back-seat "thank you" type scheme.

If that makes sense!

I frequent forums with bags of people I could refer... Isn't it time for number 4 on that list?

It probably is but you have to remember that pluto orbits the sun twice for every motion of the second hand at the nethosted affliate scheme planners office, so although we'll say it will be done in a few hours/days/weeks/month we really mean that Andrew has gotten addicted to tech support again and forgotten to organize it.

So you all stop breaking things and put learning on hold for a <insert time frame her> while Andrew gets it sorted and you'll get one soon(tm)

Yeah so much to do right now the affiliate scheme has taken a back seat. It'll happen, webstar if you're just itching to get those referrals to us I'm sure we can sort something out.
