Well, i just got windows installed on me new AMD 64 3000xp and its lightnng fast !

Have you got win 32 or did you go the whole hog and get XP64 installed? Just interested as I was looking at the same processor.

At the mo i got 32 bit installed, i got a trial of 64 bit and soon as i can find all my drivers i will be trying that out ! _________________ Paul M |

The drivers are the bit that is putting me off. I might stick to 32 bit and see what vista 64 is like next year. i can always use suse 64 bit to give it a trial.

I'm gonna get all what i want installed on 32 bit, ghost the partition then do an install of 64bit. so if it goes all tits up, i havent got to spend 3 days sorting what i want on here ! lol _________________ Paul M |

hahaha! yes, i just reinstalled windows on my celeron 700. lightening fast as well!
i don't pass judgement until windows downloads the service packs.. i may be supertitious, but those puppys really slow this old girl down. i'm sure your 64 should be sprightly for some time to come though. |
