| |
I'm new to Awstats & Webalizer, I think my last host had their own custom statistics script, and I have a few questions:
1. Why does Awstats only show IP addresses for my visitors and Webalizer is able to show the host name? Awstats doesn't seem to be able to resolve to any hosts.
2. Can I get Webalizer to ignore Referrers that are page links within my site? My old host had an option to ignore internal referrers. Pointless stat if all I can see are pages at my own site and not the external sites linking to me that I really want to see. Seems OK in Awstats.
3. Can I change any of the "Top 30" lists in Webalizer to be, for example a top 50 list?
Thanks

1. We set it not too!
2. No, not as far as I'm aware, it has to be one of its most annoying features.
3. No.

Pity, although I'm sure you have a good reason for doing this. Awstats would be close to perfect for me if it showed host names.
Found this on the Awstats web site:
| Quote: | Warning, a security hole was recently found in AWStats versions from 5.0 to 6.2 when AWStats is used as a CGI: A remote user can execute arbitrary commands on your server using permissions of your web server user (in most cases user "nobody").
If you use AWStats with another version or with option AllowToUpdateStatsFromBrowser to 0, you are safe. If not, it is highly recommanded to update to 6.3 version that fix this security hole. |
You are using 6.2, are we safe?

Yes we're safe!
I'll enable it now
