I'm very interested to get feedback from you guys and gals on what ecommerce site you've been most impressed by. This could be based on appearance, functionality or ideally a bit of both.
If you could not just list the site but also explain what specifically you found so good about the site that'd be great.
I like the shopping system www.play.com has however I'm not a fan of their slightly toy-like look.

I like Amazon.co.uk;
The ability to easily specify more than one shipping address.
One click ordering and the ability to add more items to the same order with one click for a limited (but resonable) amount of time.
The option to have all the order in the same shipment or for each item to be despached as soon as it's ready.
A good returns system.
Recommendations based on previous purchases and the ability to say "I'm not interested in that" or "I already own that" and have the recommendations updated accordingly.
Begin
I think the place that all ecommerce sites fail is the delivery. Probably not the website's fault, but the couriers. I work from 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday. Most couriers need a signature before they'll leave the goods. I'd rather not have everything I buy delivered to work but it seems I don't have much choice... and there are firms that deliver "between 9am and 6pm" - what if they decide to deliver after 5 when I'm half way home? More than once I've been unable to make a purchase online because of this.
End
Richard

Thanks for that Richard, no one else has any opinions?

Ebuyer(.com), I love the way you can chose what day of the week you want your goods to be delivered by. |

Amazon is good, if a bit fussy. It is very easy to use, ordering is clear and delivery rapid (if sometimes a bit pricey). The choice is also excellent.
Ebuyer can be slow to load (server problem) but the site is intuitive and easy to use. The search system can be a little too thorough but the quick codes are a good idea, as is the shopping list manager. Delivery at the cheaper end of the scale is too slow, considering it all comes by courier. I would prefer a quicker standard service. Why can't the order go out within 24 hours?
I don't like Dabs, dixons, curry's or pc world. They are all very difficult to read, small text and cluttered. I can never seem to find what I want.
Two of the best e-commerce sites are actually my specialist veterinary wholesalers. They have java based software to choose the order from my desktop and then connect via broadband. They are easily updated with new prices / products, confirm that stock is available and even include photos. This is by far the quickest ordering system for wholesalers or regular customers. Next day delivery by van, foc whatever the value (although I order thousands each month) as long as I place my order by 7pm, it wil be here by 11am. No that is what I call service. _________________ Hard to find and premium pet products at Pennine Vets |

interesting that Amazon.com has a different look, and more importantly lets you listen using Windows Media and not horrid Real Player (unless you want to)
ebay is improving too. _________________ Getting the hang of it slowly (subject to comment) |

| I like threadless.com, because you don't have to want to buy something to go there, it's also good for just looking at t-shirts |
