Trying to access one of my email accounts and getting stuck.

Was trying to access the account through the webmail and it was getting stuck at the inbox point. Checked my WHM and it was stating the the 10mb quota was full. Up'd it by 10 mb to 20mb. Can now get into the inbox but it says its empty, and get into 'saved messages' or 'sent mail', not that I'm expecting anything to be in there.

Help!

Hi,

So you can access your inbox? I'll assume yes now. You wouldn't have received email to your inbox while your account was over quota.

Well it seems after checking just now, I can now access my inbox thru webmail and see the contents. When I was able to get in before I think I must have been going thru my cpanel which was letting me into the default email account and not the email account I use, thus showing an empty inbox as I don't use the default.

However I'm now trying to delete all the emails in my used account (email@kenclark.co.uk) thru webmail and whichever portal I use, i.e. horde etc., I'm unable to delete any email, or send but still seems to receive. I've even got extra folders/boxes showing in the pop-up list, e.g. inbox.trash etc.

It seems that when the account ran over quota its really screwed it. Is there a way to sort it, or should I just delete the account and recreate it?

Is there a way or should it automatically email me to say you're reaching your quota?

Thanks.

HI,

I can see no way to get around these issues. A recreation of the account should help - you should've been emailed when you reached 80% of your quota.

It seems that it was a single email that pushed me just over the quota, therefore an email couldn't have been sent.

Should it not have just rejected the email instead?

Just concerned about this when I set up clients and they may have a similar problem, and I have no choice but to delete all their mail.

People prefer the mail to be queued and sent to them later once they've cleared out some older emails to make space.
