| |
Hi there.
I have uploaded a cgi script to my cgi-bin, but if I type the address into my browser, it isn't finding it.
Basically, it adds a top banner back to my site, to any link from my site.
It looks ace HERE on my old host, so why can't I get it to work on here?
Is it because I'm trying to access the cgi-bin using an addon domain? |

I've fixed this all for you. Basically you had deleted the addon domains cgi-bin (it's created automatically when you make the addon domain) it is located in toonlist/cgi-bin.
Also you'd put the script in the cgi-bin above toonlist/ which means you'd have to access it via rootdomain.com/cgi-bin/ you wouldn't be able to access it via toonlist.co.uk/cgi-bin/

Hi again.....
I've uploaded a cgi script into the toonlist cgi-bin, chmodded stuff as in the norm, but receive a 500 Internal Error message when trying to access it.
Basically, it's a little script that adds an extra frame at the top of your browser, so any site you visit through me always has a link back to me.
It's all configured, uploaded, CHMOD'ded and it's here..
http://www.toonlist.co.uk/cgi-bin/webframe.pl?http://www.yahoo.com
Why won't it work?
Am I just being really daft? |

Ok you had the path setup wrong in one of the perl files, the path you want is the absolute one e.g. /home/badlysp/public_html/toonlist/cgi-bin/

ok, entirely to uncomplicate things, (because I'm easily confused,) I've uploaded a file called main.cgi to the same place.
It's CHMODDED to 777, just to be sure.
There are 3 lines in it to be configured in it, and just to avoid me getting confused it requires no other files. But even this stand-alone CGI file can't be accessed.
The link is http://www.toonlist.co.uk/cgi-bin/main.cgi |

You're over chmodding it, try 755!

I've tried a few combinations. 777 was a last resort.
Seriously, I don't think the cgi-bin area on the addon domain has worked properly since I deleted it and you were kind enough to restore it. The gframe.cgi script that was originally in it worked for a short while, but after a day or so stopped.
Is it not a problem with access to the directory itself, as no file I put into it is accessible, whatever chmod combo I use. |
