I'm working on transforming the look of my whole website to match the entry page (http://www.jonathanmortimer.co.uk)

http://test.jonathanmortimer.co.uk/other/

What do you guys and gals think of it? Obviously I have only done this one page so far, but it will eventually be a multi-page section of my site with this visual theme, other sections will use the shape of their link from the entry page with perhaps slightly different layout. I really quite like the concept, but tweaks and ideas are very welcome!

it does look quite stark to me and is the first letter of each option intentionally dropped? Its looks odd (running IE7 beta)

I actually like the simplicity but like Z said, not convinced at the first letter being different. Are you going to put images n the shapes as you did before?

I also like the rest of your site, although I don't get all the beetle stuff. I could never get enough headroom in one!! I think I still have my Vic20 in the loft, along with a load of listings for games etc to type out by hand.Oh for thedays of cassettes and 16k memory upgrades.

The first letter of the words on the left are <strong>strong</strong>, if your browser can't decifer that basic html tag then I suggest you seriously consider using a different one ;P On the other hand, maybe I could try using a different tag for strong (bold) text, if there is one.

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm considering images in the shapes, it would add a bit of colour (there will be in-line images with the body text where appropriate). though I'm not sure if I should go with clipped photos or stylised illustrations inside the shapes, what do you think?

You've misspelled that famous German car brand: it should be Volkswagen.

It's been moved from the test area as it's now completed, sorry I forgot about this thread! It's now located at http://www.jonathanmortimer.co.uk/personal/

Comments and suggestions are still very much appreciated

I like to experiment I find normal lists and such rather boring for personal websites.
