Hi,

How would I go about running these 2 address as cron jobs ?

http://xxx.xxx.com/cron.php?xx=on
/home/username/public_html/xxx/cron.php?xx=on

http://xxx.xxx.com/cron.php?xx=off
/home/username/public_html/xxx/cron.php?xx=off

Also would it be possible to run it from
/home/username/cron.php?xx=XXX ?

Hi,

To run a URL as a cron job use wget or lynx e.g.:

lynx -source http://xxxxxx.com/

to run a php file directly use php itself e.g.:

php -q /home/username/cron.php

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi,

Thanks Andrew

Just like to confirm which I am 99.999999999999999% sure of, that files in /home/username are security and can only be seen via full FTP access or in cPanel file manager

Hi,

No problem.

Files located in /home/username/ are not accessible over the web directly so this is a more secure location than placing them in your public_html folder.

Thanks,

Andrew
