Custom Dedicated / Reseller

Hi,

I've been contemplating getting a dedicated server, because I will have custom/unusual needs (still working out the specifics), and I believe the only packages to allow custom software being installed are the Dedicated ones?

However I'm not sure I can justify the £125/month (or more) without finding some way to offset the cost, and so I'm thinking that if I could setup a reseller account, and, well re-sell some of the space/etc that I don't need, in order to contribute towards the costs.

Is this possible, and (not knowing how the regular reseller works) how easy would it be to offer independant/isolated webroots with [differing] diskspace and bandwidth limits/monitoring on the individual resold bits?

Do you know any good comparisons between cPanel and DirectAdmin - the price would suggest cPanel is the better one, but Google is turning up mixed opinions, and I haven't yet found any objective reviews.

Now I just have to hurry up and finish writing the main websites, then figure out precisely what software I'll need, and all going well I should be putting in an order sometime in June/July.
