I am getting the following errors when trying to get my e-mail

The mail service is up and running fine and the DNS still resolves...

The only thing that I can think of is that your ISP's DNS servers are down.

DNS: resolved mail.positiveimagehosting.com to 83.142.31.128

You could try changing it from mail.positiveimagehosting.com to 83.142.31.128 in your account settings.

With all my accounts, the ones that are with nethosted are falling over, but not every time they are accessed, alll my other accounts (isp ones) are working fine

Well I can only apologise but everything seems to be working here. We have only had one issue today and that was due to httpd crashing which was restarted after a few minutes.
