Hello Andrew,

While working on a local copy of my site, I managed to mess up a few things.

I was testing doing a backup of my MySQL database locally via a php interface.... and Somehow (this puzzles me) it connected to the "Live" site hosted on NetHosted, and restored a different database to the site... Now I just get a blank page when I try to access the domain on NetHosted.

Is there anyway to restore the site to how it was a week ago (including the database)? I know I should to taken better care!

Or is it all lost?

Thanks

Carlos

Andrew i'm not to sure...

Basically waht happened was that i download the database from the hosting.

While "playing" with it locally it somehow knew that it was from the live site, and restored a "messy" database back to the hosting.

As to the name of the database.. I'm not sure of that... if there are 2 that you can see... I'm not totally sure which i was using...

The messup was on Friday.. so any day before that will help a lot..

I guess that with the original hosting package, there may have been a test/empty database. As far as i know i just added to the original database.

Sorry for being a pain. I'll make better notes of what I'm doing in the future.

Andrew,

Hello, Is it blank after a database restore, or blank after a website + database restore?

Any day before the 15th it was working.

Carlos

I only restored the database as that is what you said you'd been playing with?

i did my "playing/messup" on the 15th..

If you don't have an earlier backup.. then i guess that's it (it's my own fault)

If there is no earlier backup, can you blank the site, and put it back to its original state (when i 1st joined NetHosted)?

thanks

Carlos

Right, but our current backup of your site was taken on the 16th at 18:04 so isn't any use in this situation it would seem.

No, no earlier backups I'm afraid we keep the most recent only.

Blank your site? That would mean we'd delete all your emails, cron jobs, files the lot - wouldn't it just be easier for you to delete all your files via FTP?

Hello,

I haven't setup any cron jobs or emails yet....
The only reason i said "blank" was that i'm not totally sure how the whole thing works:

Not sure where the database is stored.
Not sure how to blank the current database (now i messed it up)
Not sure if i need a blank database to reinstall all my phpBB stuff

If I can get things back to the "original joined" state I could fix things, do I just delete everything via ftp in "public_html"?

I see, well in that case would you like to restore your account as if you had just signed up (e.g. we'd restore it using your original welcome email, same passwords etc)?

Andrew
