I'm getting a fair bit of form spam on one of my client's sites and know that I now need to add some sort of captcha to the form. Any recommendations?
Also, as the problem has already started do I need to remove/change the .txt file that the form submission is sent to? My theory being that some spammer has probably added it to a list somewhere? _________________ Getting the hang of it slowly (subject to comment) |

Captcha wise it depends what system you are using for the form. If you have an out of the box solution it'll likely have a Captcha form addon somewhere on the web.
If it's a custom form I'd suggest trying to integrate this Captcha: http://recaptcha.net/
Not only do you get the added security of the Captcha system your users also help to digitise old books/texts. It's win win.
I think you'll find that URL is the more likely thing indexed by the spammer.
Thanks,
