Hi,
I am setting up an osCommerce shop and am having a front page (index.html) with some pictures on it and a bit of text, will this be classed as an entrance page ?
Will it affect my Search Engine position ? _________________ Regards,

Why not make your front page, part of the shop? I don't think having a seperate page will make any difference to your search engine rankings, as long as you don't go in for keyword spamming, or other dubious practices.
my own attempts at osCommerce
www.rawnpure.co.uk
www.kniphofia.co.uk
I've used the "search engine friendly" URLs option, when I was installing. _________________ Kev Maggs

It may affect your ranking if your entrance page is just a duplicate of another page.
These days search engines seem to be smarter, you shouldn't have a problem.
