Hi, I have added a second domain (2nddomain.co uk) to my account. I am able to gain ftp access via SmartFTP using address (2nddomain.co.uk), login: 2nddomain@sheepcoat.co.uk and password xxxxxx.

However I would wish to give a third party ftp access to 2nddomain.co.uk without them seeing sheepcoat.co.uk in the login name. Is there any way of doing this with, maybe with an alternative ftp account configuration? Any help would be much appreciated.

Chris

Chris,

You should just be able to login to ftp.2nddomain.co.uk  as I've just pinged that address I see it resolves fine to our shared IP so you should have no problem.

Andrew,

Yes I can gain ftp access to the 2nddomain space but only using the login name 2nddomain@sheepcoat.co.uk.

I don't want the main user see the sheepcoat.co.uk in the log in name.

Is there a limitation that Personal Hosting accounts have to use ftp login names formatted so: <name@originalaccountdomainname> rather than just <name>?

Chris,

Oh sorry, I didn't read your question correctly! Yes I'm afraid this is a limitation as far as I can see there is no way around this.

Would this also be a problem with the reseller accounts?

No not at all, the way multiple domains work on reseller accounts is how you would want it!
