AOL does seem to have its problems with FTP, SMTP and anything other than web browsing, probably because it actively blocks ports and has some quite strict spam filters. I suppose with that many customers, it is easier ( & cheaper) to be proactive than reactive. Glad its working for you now. _________________ Hard to find and premium pet products at Pennine Vets |

Just found this, im having problems too. can't upload a 10K html file over FTP!
Im on BT here, and i've tried it with securefx (in pure ftp mode) and the windows explorer ftp client.
hmm just tried a different server and got the same thing.
only thing i can think of at this minute is that I installed the latest windows patches yesterday... sounds fishy.. let me just disable zonealarm and try again....
nope that didnt make any difference. Im beginning to think its the MS updates.... |

I've just tried an FTP with AceFTP, Win XP but without the latest patches and it worked just fine. I'm also using a wired router and Eclipse (who don't block any ports). _________________ Hard to find and premium pet products at Pennine Vets |

I have just downloaded a largish chunk of my site by ftp as a backup and after about 4 mins of continuous files, it did time out. However, I am using AceFTP3 which is a free download and this client reconnected within 5 seconds and continued where it had been stopped. If the warning noise hadn't alerted me, I would never have known. _________________ Hard to find and premium pet products at Pennine Vets |
