I can ftp to my ftp.mainsite.co.uk ok but when I try to ftp to ftp.addonsite.co.uk I cannot get it to work!
what should I be using for:
ftp host: should this be ftp.addonsite.co.uk or ftp.mainsite.co.uk or something else?!
host directory: /addonsite.co.uk or /public_html/addonsite
login: I have created a new log in of abcd
password: I have created a new password of 1234
I have tried all combinations but can't connect to the addon site, any help greatly appreciated! thanks! |

As your addon domain is physically just a subdirectory of your main site you should be using ftp.mainsite.co.uk and then use the path, /public_html/addonsite/ _________________ Liverpool Web Design |

| yeah - thats what I thought too. I wanted to be able to create a separate login name and password though - which I don't seem to be able to do. |

I'm not certain I've fully understood what you are asking but here is what I have successfully done: Created a new_user and password in ftp manager associating it with the subdirectory /addonsite, then when the user connects to mainsite.co.uk, using ftp, and logs in with new_user & password they see the addonsite subdirectory as their root.
Not sure if this helps or not...
