I've just tried to login to cpanel but the link won't load. I went into 'client login' area and on the account details it shows my account suspended - is that right? Also no email is being picked up? _________________ Crime fiction writer and prehistorian:

Nicola,
Your account is up and running without issue it was only the status of your account in our billing system that had been incorrectly marked. Something I've now corrected.
Thanks,

Thought that might be the case. In which case I can't remember how to login to cpanel *blushing*
Edit - any idea why my email accounts are not logging in (using outlook express as normal)? _________________ Crime fiction writer and prehistorian:

Oh dear, neither IE or Firefox will load the page, nor will the email accounts login. Am I doing something wrong? _________________ Crime fiction writer and prehistorian:

Hi,
You may be behind a proxy that is blocking the high ports these services operate on. Try using (for example) http://cpanel.nicolaford.com/ instead.
Thanks,

Thanks Andrew that worked for cpanel.
The only recent change is that Avast has updated to v5.0.594. But the email has been working since? _________________ Crime fiction writer and prehistorian:

Nicola,
I just sent a test message through to your info@ inbox and it arrived as expected. I see no email errors in the logs.
Thanks,

Okay. So is there a reason that the rest of my mail from previous ISPs is being collected but the mail from the nicolaford domain has stopped? _________________ Crime fiction writer and prehistorian:

I have looked at the email settings in Avast - is this the one relating to nicolaford domain?
solardns.com - POP3 - 995 (port) - SSL (encryption)
the entries for plusnet and tiscali are different. _________________ Crime fiction writer and prehistorian:

Hi,
No, that domain on it's own isn't sufficient. However I see in the logs you were logging in fine and retrieving your mail just yesterday night?
Thanks,

Yes, it only started this morning. I looked through the email section and saw you said to someone use venus.solardns.com, so I've tried that with the same other details and rebooted - its now working (got your test message). Was that the problem or is it a co-incidence?' _________________ Crime fiction writer and prehistorian:

Hi,
Something's definitely not right with your setup as Venus is a completely different server to the one your account is on so there's no way you'd be retrieving any mail if your mail client was actually trying to connect to this server.
I can see from the logs your mail client is connecting fine to the correct server so in that sense everything is up and running. Are you able to send emails? It could be that you have now set your sending mailserver to Venus's which means this won't work for you.
Thanks,

Have deleted the 'venus' settings, just leaving the original solardns.com ones. Have just sent test messages which were sent & received fine. All very confusing...
...maybe the reboot fixed whatever was 'wobbly'? I hadn't altered anything this morning when the errors started. Thanks once again for your help, sorry about the gremlins. _________________ Crime fiction writer and prehistorian:

Reboots do work for odd problems like this more often than not! Glad you're back up and running now.
Thanks,
