Opera. ew.. its just not my style.

I tried going back to Firefox, with no avail. That browser is so un-standards-compliant. -_-. I suppose it's still in it's beta but hey :/ bah.

So I needed a new browser...

What was I to do...

ITS OBVIOUS!!

make one myself.

And now, the finished result... Prepare yourselves for... DARKBROWSER...

By the way: if you wondering about the error on start-up, you have to put currentver.txt in your C:\Program Files\DarkBrowser\ folder with "Beta 1.4.10" in it (its for the updater). I forgot to include the file in set-up, but It'll be there in the next issue.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean when you say Firefox is not standards-compliant. It is one of the most standards-complaint browsers out there. Your browser uses IE's rendering engine, so it would have just the same problems IE does.

That put aside, it looks very nice for just a beta. Perhaps one day you'll have the most popular browser shell out there! You mis-spelled google in the search box thing that pops up when you hit the google logo, just in case you didn't notice

Thanks for showing us it

I've got to agree. I'm not sure which standards you're referring to but anything that uses the IE rendering engine isn't going to come close to being W3C standards compliant!!

I'm always impressed by things like this, I seriously doubt I could whip up a browser shell!!

I mean that a lot of Javascript doesn't work on Firefox, embedded music doesn't work. There are a lot of bugs.

I've just put on an update for it now which fixes the updater problem. And in the future i'll do a proper updater that doesnt just compare 2 text files, lol. .

Thanks for liking it ^^

The Javascript is probably very very poor, and embedded music has nothing to do with standards-compliance. However, I understand what you mean. There are some things that only work in IE. When I reach one of those (a very rare occurence), I just use IE temporarily. There are lots of problems with IE, and all those problems (or at least most of them) will also be in your browser. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about that. But if you want to use IE, I admire your commitment to making your own shell, and I wish you luck with it

I just posted another update. New toolbar buttons (skinning options) and the Updater now works completely properly. .

And if I ever get off my ass and learn a more powerful language, I'll make my own independant browser.

Until then, DarkBrowser 2 will have to do.

Theres also a web-site I know where none of the links work in anything except IE. :s. Which is wierd because they are just normal ' a href="blablabla" ' . Ah well. I'll never understand browsers.

Edit: Doh! I forgot to fix the google spelling error. !

Hmmm, MosLuna.co.uk, check it out.

I just did a little revamp on it so it's not particually great at the moment, and I've stopped work on my big programming projects to pursue 3D programming. So far I have a made a rotating 3D box, with skies.

And at the moment my domain MosLuna.co.uk is just redirecting to Speak-Your-Mind/tose/, is there anyway I can actually like, make MosLuna.co.uk so it isn't just a redirect.. Not sure how to explain, I'm sure you know what I mean.

Hi Mike,

Looks nice! Good luck with the 3D programming!

Change MosLuna's name servers to the standard NetHosted ones, then go to your CPanel and click addon domains. Put the information in here. Your files will still all be at speak-your-mind but it won't be a redirect
