Here's my portfolio subdomain, I particularly like the way the subdomain thing works, keeping things seperate from the main domain name.

http://portfolio.jonathanmortimer.co.uk/

I've worked this up using basic html and a few CSS tricks I picked up from tutorial sites and books, graphics made using GIMP and Inkscape (using my own photographs and designs, naturally). I'm thinking of adding a scroll to the photographs section, maybe horizontal, using CSS; anyone any opinions on this? How well is CSS scrolling supported in the main browsers? Maybe I should make a test site and ask again. Oh and there's some javascript for the rollover too, I had trouble getting the CSS rollover thing to work.
Any other opinions or suggestions are welcome!

PS I love those smilies, especially this one - !!!

Hi,

I love your photo's on there! Regarding CSS/JS rollovers, personally I see no harm in using JS - people who disable JS are going to cripple their whole web experience anyway!

What do you guys (and gals) think of my uber-simple main page?

http://www.jonathanmortimer.co.uk

I like shapes and stuff, I've been creating webpage designs based around simple shapes for a few years now, and trying to get away from the busy top and left menu style that so many seem to love. I suppose that suits certain sites, I particularly like the Hewlett-Packard one.

For me it's too simplistic, you perhaps needs a border of some sort around the shapes? Or a light grey background or similar to outline them?

Nah, I like it the way it is. Thanks for the input though
I was thinking about some subtle random occasional animation on the images, maybe with the coloured outline.
