Amazingly snappy browser. I should make a video of it so people can see how fast it is...!

Perhaps I can soon use OSX on my PC now that Apple are using Intel. I know the tool to use XP on a mac is officially supported, it wont be long until Steve Jobs starts selling OSX to us PC users.

Slightly different subject - but now I have MaxADSL and speeds are up at 5 - 6Mb/s range, I am finding that I am waiting for websites now rather than my connection.

Ian

PS Can you upgrade the new Intel based Macs the same way as we can a PC?

Hmm, not sure Steve wants people doing that. I gather they're going to be using some DRM technology to stop people installing OS X on any old PC.

Safari just gets better the more speed you have, when you're at the stage where you are finding yourself waiting for websites Safari would perform very nicely indeed. It's rendering is definitely optimised for faster connections (and why not, that's the way the world is heading!).

I imagine you can indeed!

You can upgrade graphics cards, network cards, etc in the PowerMacs (tower systems), but not the main CPU as far as I understand it. They'll still use Apple-designed mother boards, and things like the Mac Mini and iMac will be all-in-one logic boards so only RAM and HD will be upgradable in those (and add-ons like Airport).

But I agree, for me Safari + Stand + Saft + xGestures is the way forwards. Amazingly snappy browser. I should make a video of it so people can see how fast it is...!

Go for it, old boy I'd be interested for one!

As promised:

There's a delay loading Play, but I can assure you that's my routers dodgy DHCP client not Safari! The colours all look washed out, that's due to the freeware screen recording software.

Enjoy
