Just built this website for a rock band. They wanted the first version up in time for the release of the World Cup song so it's only a few pages right now. There'll be more pages added over time.

Feel free to download the song and have a listen! |

Yet another hallmark site from rich_b continues to raise the bar.
Simple but strong and carefully created graphics delivered using straightforward, well thought out markup, layout and navigation. No unnecessary clutter distracting the visitor from the content. Definitely my kind of website.
The only other comments I could make are that on the actual download page I personally found the visual cueing for the link a little weak and it wasn't immediately obvious to me what I had to do.
And again if it were me, I would have made the text boxes on the contact form all the same length and aligned the 'Your message' legend at the top of the cell but that's just the way I like to see things. (I blame my upbringing for that.)
Regards,
Pete
PS As to the music itself, I'll be leaving it to the habiutes of "What I'm listening to right now" to pass judgement on that.
[edit]Just noticed that FF doesn't like the backslash in the link to the download file - IE seems to silently change it.[/edit] _________________ "I have made this letter long, only because I lacked the time to make it short." - Blaise Pascal 1657 |

Thanks very much for your kind and very useful comments Pete.
Good comment on the download link - I'll have a look at re-doing that to make it more obvious. Also, the contact form comments are just the sort of thing I'd like to do if I had thought about it which I hadn't! Always good to have someone stand back and spot things you don't see yourself.
Also, last but not least - a huge thanks for pointing out the FF issue with the slash in the download link. I had a few people experiencing download issues and couldn't work out what the cause was. Of course, IE 'corrected' it and while I tested the layout in FF I didn't test the download link - doh! I had gone through 'case' issues, network issues and couldn't get to the bottom of it until now. Thanks a million! |
