is this possible? I have set up a mysql database on my server but would like to run something on my pc to insert records. What would the host be? just my base domain url?

Hi,
This is possible.
Yes your base domain. You will need to add your local IP address to the allowed hosts in the MySQL tool in cPanel first though.

It would seem in your case yes (phpBB shows me which IP addresses you have posted from). If you don't want the hassle of adding a new IP every time you want to login to MySQL remotely I'd advise asking your ISP for a static IP.

I was thinking it changed. Oh well, I can output the data to a .txt file instead and work on it that way
