| Well, I thought it'd be rather helpful to share my resources. I have a .html bookmarks export that I'd be happy to share if anyone wants it - there's a shedload of links to invaluable hacks and fixes for IE in there. |

I've been waiting for a free service like that for years, looks really clean shame about 4 hour delays

Now quoting times in excess of 20 hours.
I suggest you get in quick and plagiarise the idea as your next business venture.

But remember fonts can only be embedded in MSIE (via WEFT ), Firefox et al don't support them (last I checked!). Not a problem if you're using the fonts in flash / images, but something to be aware of..
And here's another basic introduction , this time by Dave Raggett of the W3C. Pretty comprehensive actually with some good examples.
Edit - oops, just noticed that toastyghost already linked to the CSS bit of Dave's tutorial.. ah well, now you've got the full lot! |

I love VIM because its free, works in Linux, *nix & Windows (colour). It is hard to use initially but 20 minutes reading this http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/vi-guide.xml should convince anyone.
Personally I turned my back on Dreamweaver because as a beginner it did not help me learn, then I found I did not need it.
A good beginner book "Build Your Own Web Site The Right Way, Using HTML & CSS" by Ian LLoyd. http://www.sitepoint.com/books/html1/
