| |
I have been experimenting with a program called SQL Manager for MySQL. I can successfully see databases that I have created using CPanel but when I used fantastico to install oscommerce the resulting database was "invisible".
I think the problem is that whilst Cpanel adds the default USER to any databases it creates, fantastico adds USER_osc1.
How can I add USER to the new database? If I try to add it through Cpanel I seem to get USER_USER instead?
I hope I have explained the problem and someone might be able to understand enough to help. |

Hi,
I see what you're saying. I don't think there is a way for you to do this. cPanel by default grants priveleges to the cPanel username for all databases created however Fantastico is a third party script and as you have noted it only gives permissions (correctly in my opinion) to the user it has specifically created for the app install.
I see no workaround for this I'm afraid.

I can live with it, now that I understand what is going on.
Thank you for your reply |
