Ok. I waited about 20 mins before I thought "OK, I'll post, I have a problem".
2.4 nanoseconds after hitting 'submit', website seems back to normal. Grrrr.....

Ok, we do seem to have a problem after all.
(Doh...beginning to feel like an idiot).
It worked for a few seconds, then seemed to seize up again. Now I would say it's coming and going. I also had a problem posting to this forum (non-Nethosting sites are working fine)

Caroline,
This does seem like a Router/ISP issue. I say this because you were experiencing problems posting here as well as visiting your site however these two sites are hosted in completely different datacentres with different mixes of bandwidth providers. It's extremely unlikely that both networks were experiencing problems at the same time and much more likely that it was a local issue of some sort.
Thanks,

Hmmm...very weird. However, happy to report all seems normal today.
Weird, because other sites were loading just fine; I was literally only having trouble with this forum and my own site!
My ISP is Newnet, by the way. I can get better deals but I've just found them so reliable and I use the Net such a lot (and play an MMO) that I've been very wary of changing!

Caroline,
I'm glad it's working as you would expect once again!
Thanks,

Caroline,
I'm on Newnet both at home and at work and it is very rare that they have a problem. Next time there is an issue, try doing a tracert and a pathping to your site and report the results. That will hopefully highlight where the problem is. |
