I am having this same STMP problem but am using microsoft outlook on a Mac-- no tools icon appears--any suggestions as to what Ishould do?

Hi,

Outlook on Mac? I'd suggest using Mac Mail instead.

I think this problem is a simple authentication one, so make sure you have authentication enabled in your mail client.

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

I am also getting the below error on our emails.

Quote:
An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'mail.solutions-display.co.uk', Server: 'mail.solutions-display.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '451 Please try again later.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 451, Error Number: 0x800CCC6A

This is happening on all of our email addresses.

What seems to be the problem?

Regards

Adam

Adam,

Please can you submit a ticket as we need further details such as:

- What email address are you sending from?
- What is the subject of your email?
- What is the exact time you tried to send this email and received this error?

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi, thought I'd add my STMP problem here rather than starting a new thread.
It might be something obvious but it's just when I'm sending mail I just get this at the top of the window I'm writing the letter in:

Quote:

There was an error sending your message: Failed to send data [SMTP: Invalid response code received from server (code: 503, response: All RCPT commands were rejected with this error: Sender verify failed Valid RCPT command must precede DATA)]

I'm sending from ben@theporg.org
The address I'm sending to works as I've had to use Googlemail for now.

Hope it is something simple though.

Hi,

Do you have authentication turned on in your mail client?

Thanks,

Andrew

I'm trying to send directly from the site login [2082], I'm not using a mail client like Outlook or Thunderbird.

If you do mean from the site login then where abouts?
I've checked Options and the mailbox area but found nothing about authentication sorry.

Ah I see, try specifically logging into yourdomain.com/webmail with the username ben+theporg.org then you should have no further problems.

Thanks,

Andrew

Okay, I'm logging in fine with what you suggested and the password works but I'm still getting the same error message.

I'm using Horde but tried using Squirrel Mail but just got this when I tried to send to my googlemail address.

No Such User Here
Sender verify failed

Roundcube just says it's failed to send message.

Ahh, I think I've found the problem but don't know how to change it.

I changed my identity on Roundcube from theporgo@theporg.org to ben@theporg.org and sending a mail under that identity works.

I assume I can change my Squirrel and Horde identities the same way?
If not, I can just use Roundcube for now.

Yes this is correct, you changed the sending email address to one that didn't exist the server will try to verify this address before sending. If it doesn't exist you can't send from it!

You should be able to change this setting in all webmail interfaces.

Thanks,

Andrew
