A few guys @ work have using google apps for email etc.
Same thing as gmail etc but you have to point your domain mail settings straight to your google apps domain.

I see in my WHM that we have the options to set this up, they had to use a third party to sort out their DNS & MX settings (great hosting )

1. I like the idea of not worrying about my email if my PC breaks and having fully access from everywhere.

2. Not sure how I feel about leaving my mail on google.

3. Nethosted do you mind if the mail traffic is pointed elsewhere.

4. Any other options?

Cheers

Hi,

1. Can be achieved with IMAP or POP3.

2. This one is a hard one to call, it depends on how much you trust them to "do no evil".

3. We don't mind no, it's your hosting account you can do what you like with it (in keeping with our TOS of course)!

Thanks,

Andrew

Thanks for your reply.

Not sure where I sit at the moment.

I guess from your comment I could just IMAP them back to the server.

Hi,

You could do, it seems a bit of a long winded way around it to me though, if you wanted to have an online backup of your mail you could simply set up a forwarder to your gmail address which would serve the same purpose and need no manual involvement after you create it in cPanel.

Regards,

Darryl

You can also use Google's SMTP with your GMail login to send mail from your email client so that everything you send ends up in your GMail Sent folder.
