Sure, you get a master control panel (WHM) which you can control other domains you host via. You can also login to their cPanels without needing their passwords.

Hi,

Yes that's correct, we'd move you over and sort out the pro-rated billing. All our plans are paid in advance either on a monthly or yearly basis!

Thanks again for this. Just looking into all the angles. Just been speaking to a mate but one thing they use is ASP which on looking about I don't think your support.

Thanks again hopefully we'll all go on to make some money...

Yes I can confirm we can't and therefore don't support ASP pages.

Making money is a nice side effect of the hosting biz

If it works the same as my with my current host (also WHM and cPanel), you'll be able to do most things by logging in with your reseller username and password. However, phpMyAdmin can't be used in this way.

Hi, me again!

I'm still here and I'm almost ready to switch to you now...

I've just had a query from a web developer who wants to know what PHP memory limit will be available for a site he's thinking of hosting with me. Apparently he needs more than 20MB, preferably 40MB. This is in order to allow his sites users to upload photos which will be downsampled and stored.

Is there a page he can view phpinfo at the server on which my reseller account will be held?

Thanks.

Impel,

To the best of my knowledge phpinfo pages are located at:

http://servername.nethosted.co.uk/phpinfo/

servername being pluto, neptune, uranus, saturn or whatever ones there are now!

As MikeT said, you are likely to be put on Saturn if you order in the next month or so. Saturn has a 10MB limit, PHP shouldn't be used to upload files even that big in my opinion so the limit isn't going to be raised anywhere near 40MB I'm afraid. FTP is designed for this purpose and is the preferred option!

Thanks chaps. After discussing further with the developer, it's "memory-limit" which is important. His test server had a 20MB limit on this, where as memory-limit doesn't seem to be enabled at nethosted...

Ah, thanks for the clarification. You should have no problems on our service.

Thanks,

Okay... here we go then. I'll order the Standard Reseller plan and see how we go with a site or two for a month (I have a non-business, community site which I'll do first to highlight any potential migration issues).

We've spoken (earlier in this topic) about you copying accounts over from my old host. However, I get the impression that my old hosts config wasn't entirely neat and tidy based on some strange stats behaviour. I guess I'm asking if a clean break would be better, where I change the nameservers of one sites domain names at a time after reuploading to my new nethosted account.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Please also note that I wish to create a new cPanel account myself manually for the community site anyway, so when I order please don't do anything different to normal.

Also, I'll be using a domain name I already have for the sign up process which I believe will become the "main" account, but this will remain in use at my old host for the time being. Will this pose any problems, or will I be able to access the WHM using an IP address?

Thanks.

Ok, that sounds good to me. If you believe that things aren't as they should be at your old host a clean start can do no harm but clearly it could do some good so I'd suggest that. I'll setup your account in the usual manner.

You will be given temporary login details to use so that's no problem.

Thanks,

Andrew

Well, here I am over a year later and I'm finally about to order the reseller account.

Andrew - could I be put on a server which enables me to use the latest versions of PHP and MySQL that you provide in case I need some of the their functionality please? Will await your reply before ordering.

Thanks.

Hi,

Better late then never! If you can wait a few more days you can go on the brand new server which should come with the latest PHP5 and MySQL5 as well as Apache2. I'm hoping it will arrive today, then setting it up and moving it to the datacentre will take a day also.

Thanks,

Andrew
