Hi Andrew,

I currently have a couple of accounts with you www.acrylic-display.co.uk  & www.solutions-display.co.uk. 

My question is I am in the proccess of designing and hosting a few family and freinds websites for which I am getting paid to do this for them and I have a scope to make things bigger, but I am unsure what hosting plan to go for? Do you recommend I go for your starter reseller account and move my two existing accounts to this reseller account and setup my customers websites onto this reseller account. Or would you it be better to setup a Shared Plan for each customer?

The only worry I have with a reseller account is I have never done this before and it is all new to me. I have no problem getting more customers its just how to go about setting up customers accounts and sending them confirmations. Also is there some sort of template like your website for customers to compare hosting plans and order hosting and design plans?

Adam,

Well the reseller account gives you more control. It gives you access to a more advanced master panel called WHM where you are able to manage each individual account you have created. There is a learning curve when using WHM but it's not too steep. It's hard to answer your question really as it depends on your needs. Typically people who are looking to offer hosting will do so via a reseller account.

You will need to create your own welcome email to send to customers this is not a feature of WHM. Billing is also not a feature of WHM. Setting up accounts is taken care of by WHM and is easy to do. We don't provide a template for plans, this is up to you to create.

One question is. The welcome email I received from you is this automated? or do you have to input the values yourself. This is the only worry I have. How do I know what server it will be hosted on and there username and passwords? Also would I direct there emails to my nameservers eg: ns1.mydomain.com

Adam,

These emails are generated by our billing software. However you would always be creating accounts on the same server so the IP would never change. You would have to manually fill in the username and password sections as you would have specified these yourself when creating the account. You would need to put our nameservers if you opted for the Starter plan as this is our only reseller plan without custom nameservers (e.g. ns1.yourdomain.com).

We currently use WHMAutoPilot v2 however will soon be switching (currently in the process of deciding). It is integrated into our website. We do not provide billing software with our reseller accounts.
