Hello,
I've just set up a new site at http://www.vouchertrader.co.uk which will allow users to trader unwanted gift vouchers with other users. It's not 100% complete yet but it is in a useable state. Please take a look and feel free to register with the site (we wont spam you!) and I'd really appreciate any comments you have.
Thanks in advance. _________________ Visit Headphone News |

Its a nice idea! I always end up with Boots or M&S vouchers which are no good to me so the missus uses them or you get something you don't really need. It'll be interesting to see the site again when you get the graphics on. However, I think the practicalities will be tougher.
Is it all done on trust, sending the vouchers to each other or is there a 3rd party. That would be my main concern in using the site as vouchers are as good as cash. Look at all the ebay scams that go on. If you can get the trust (poss ebay style) or use an escrow service (can you do it yourself for perhaps 50p per person regardless of the amount of vouchers to cover postage and time???)
I spotted one spelling mistake on a banner over your blog, SUCCESSFUL. </pedant> Let us know when you finish the graphics.

I think it's a smart idea, but as with rhinoian how are you planning to ensure the system isn't abused?

Thanks for taking the time to look at the site guys.

At the moment it'll just work as a trust system, though the fact that you actually need to give an address before someone sends you the vouchers makes it a bit harder to scam than eBay.
I did consider starting an escrow system at a small fee but decided that I didn't want to get myself involved with anything that would give me legal responsibility for someone else's possessions until I was sure the site was going to be a success. It's definitely something I'd consider for the future though.
Unfortunately spelling aren't my strong point so I actually really appreciate you pointing out any spelling mistakes.

Again, I'm not very arty so decent graphics are going to be a problem for me. I think I'm going to have to try and find someone who'll do it for me, though finding someone who'll do it for free could be hard. _________________ Visit Headphone News |

Try a local art college for the graphics. A student may want to do it for a project, possibly cost you a couple of sketch pads or a pint or two but worth an ask.
As for the spelling, i generally assume it is typing rather than spelling. You can always cut and paste into word for a spell check if your html editor doesn't have one. Saying that I have had a letter from Glasgow Uni that spells veterinary incorrectly and a major multinational pharmaceutical company who can't spell fearful

Tony Hancock: (Taking down the letter that Bill Kerr has left on the mantlepiece Xmas eve night.) "It's pathetic, a man of his age writing to Father Christmas. I mean just look at it; 'Dear Santa', spelt D-E-A-R."

Hancock's Half Hour is an excellent programme, even in black & white. They do show repeats from time to time and is worth catching. Sid James of Carry On fame is also in the show. Very funny. _________________ Hard to find and premium pet products at Pennine Vets |

Sadder still. This one was from an episode in the original radio series.

Hello again,
We've done a bit more work on the site so if anyone is interested the URL is http://www.vouchertrader.co.uk
We've also added a forum to the site so feel free to register and post, it's looking very bare at the moment
Any feedback appreciated (even spelling errors!).
Cheers. _________________ Visit Headphone News |

I really would allow people to see what vouchers are available for trade without them having to have an account...
