Hi,
I host a website which has a popular public Webcam. I currently FTP an image every 5 seconds from the camera and use Java to refresh the image on the webpage.
I'd like to now broadcast live video, and can do this using RTSP. But the webcam has lots of hits a day, and each RTSP feed will be separately pulled, so will sap my home bandwidth. Also it would be easy to see my home IP (ie the host) from the feed, which I do not want to broadcast.
Instead I'd like to stream the video to the Nethosted server, on demand, and have each visitor pull the RTSP feed from the server instead. This would minimise the home bandwidth required, basically only one feed being pulled - allowing 100's of visitors to access the site without any problem. It would also keep my home IP private, since users would be streaming from the Nethosted filespace and not from my home IP.
Has anyone any suggestions on how to do this?
Thanks,
