In case I wish to add a domain that would be controlled or have access by someone else, and I don't want to give them access to my main domain, can the addon domain have it's own unique cPanel setup, username and password, email setup, etc?

What would be involved in transferring a domain name from another server to my host as an addon domain? If I do not own the other domain are there any complications (assuming I am acting on the owner's behalf with their permission).

Hi,

Not it's not possible to give anything but full cPanel access. You would need a reseller account in order to create separate hosting accounts with individual cPanel access.

If you just want to point the domain all you need to do is update the nameservers. If you want to actually move it into our care then it'll need to be unlocked, you'll need the EPP code and also access to the email address listed on the whois for the Admin contact.

Thanks,

Andrew

Man, that sounds complicated, and I'm not willing to open up my cPanel to them.

Better for them to just get their own hosting sorted then (which currently seems to be off-line, which is why I was enquiring as I would like to see the website live).

Thanks for the quick advice.
